Linda French

Overview Linda is a social psychologist who went on to practise in family therapy and has moved into the practical application of  her skill in the broader field of group dynamics. She is also qualified as a social worker, counsellor and as a mediator initially with the Tenancy Tribunal but now in private practice.
She has provided counselling, and management consultancy as an independent advisor for more than 20 years through her company Decision Support Services Limited.
Organisational and personal development has been a major area of activity particularly appropriate when a  reorganisation is occurring. Linda works with teams and groups to facilitate change in ways of working together. She provides ongoing supervision and mentoring at service delivery and senior management levels to those in therapeutic areas including the care of the elderly, young people with behaviour problems, palliative care, psychology.
Linda works with individuals affected by organisational change to develop their ability to cope with the personal impacts as well as assisting the fit into the new structure.
The insights into personal capabilities are also used in staff  selection and debriefing of those in overseas postings and challenging work settings.
Linda is also Chairman of Community Connections Supported Living Trust which provides support for people with disabilities.
Drama Therapy Linda's move into Drama Therapy is an extension of her techniques with groups. Observing and working a researcher and co-therapist with Bas van der Hoeven in the use of Drama Therapy tools and techniques was a revelation of the efficacy of these methods in getting through to people where other means have been ineffective. One or two people can make little impact on the growing dementia population so Linda's organisation and experience is being added to Bas's therapeutic skill-set to develop a training programme.
